Where to find oil galacticraft
Where to find oil? I'm trying to go to space in the Galacticraft mod, but can't find any oil. I got pretty much everything else done, just need to fuel my rocket (Tier 1, if that matters). This is my first time going to space in survival, anyone know where I can easily find oil, or at least some sort of fuel for my rocket? About. I have mined out multiple chunks from Y 15-35, entirely, with no luck. I have even used a Seismic Vibrator and moved it to 100s of different locations focusing on deserts. I think the oil was never generated or the RealWorldGen mod messed it up. Oil. If Galacticraft is the only mod that you have installed, you will need to wait until we can create Empty Liquid Canisters and a Portable Oil Extractor before you can gather oil -- we'll get to these in a minute. If you have Buildcraft installed, the recommended method for gathering oil is by using a pump and Buildcraft or Railcraft tanks. If you install the Buildcraft mod in an EXISTING GALACTICRAFT SAVED WORLD then you will find that suddenly all the Galacticraft oil and fuel has disappeared. (That's because it gets de-registered - it literally does not exist in the game - if Buildcraft is installed) And the Buildcraft oil can only be found in newly generated Overworld chunks.

Crude Oil will spread on up to 2 blocks from the source block on a solid surface, shorter than lava outside the Nether. If upgrading from an older GC3, to get the new oil generation, you would need to re-generate your Overworld - otherwise you will find the old system in any part of the Overworld you already explored. from my experience, oil spawns between levels 20 and 30. the reason the dropper is a "hit or miss" is because of a little bug where there needs to be a block under a non-running oil block so when i try to "harvest" oil i usually build a block and right click with the dropper and move on until you get as much oil you can or until it runs out
